Neverwinter temple of the spider
or if like me, you are slower at taking down mobs and want a better drop rate per mob for the time you invest. a mage).then you might prefer the pocket of spiders south of Allerian Stronghold.īut if you are higher level and/or well-geared. or if you are a dps class that can quickly take down many, many spiders at once (e.g. If you are lower level and/or not that great geared. And it's especially offset by the conspicuously higher drop rate. But I think that's offset by the fact that there's no competition for the spiders in BM. Adds were more annoying and the BM spiders are harder to kill than the Terokkar ones. I walked in BM and got 2 netherweb spider silks off the first two Blackfang Tarantulas I killed. after 38 spiders dead (felt like it took *forever*) and only one silk dropped, I decided to give BM a try. As a healy priest, I'm not the fastest at taking down mobs solo. a straight "free for all" drop rate? Not very hard.Ĭomment by ThottbotI read the comments here and spent some time in the little pocket south of Allerian Stronghold as well as a few other likely spots in Terokkar Forest. I mean why not? The game knows whether or not you have a quest andĭrops accordingly, how hard would it be for Bliz to actuate a character drop I feel there may be 2 seperate controls on drop rates 1 is a regional count and another may be a character count. Well or how poorly you've done on 10 spiders because the variance is The dice and you have to take it that way one spider at a time not how Every spider you kill is another, separate roll of A rough estimate I have is after a 3 hour stintīetween Tureem and Shatt I realized about 20% but that was a good dayĪnd I have had worse. That's 6 out of 20 and I do better at times and also worse other times. Same time frame as well as sat for mana etc.
#NEVERWINTER TEMPLE OF THE SPIDER ZIP#
Yes, there are times I get zip from 5-6 spiders but usually after a run like that I do much better: Recent Farming Runs (including travel time from Shattrath Aldor Inn):īlack Morass (with friend): 58 minutes, 8 silksĬomment by ThottbotAs a level 64 Hunter I do quite well comparatively getting NW silk in Terrokar just about anywhere. The drop rate there seems to be at least 35 percent, though I've experienced about 50 percent in all my runs. It might be worth it - if you need to farm more than a few of these - to grab a skinner and goof around in Black Morass.

Unfortunately, it seems the Netherweb Spider Silks will still be required in the same numbers as previously, and have become more difficult to farm. I postulate, then, that the netherweb silks are part of a greater effort by Blizz to make it harder to get materials, but require fewer materials altogether to make BC tailoring goods. it now takes 6 fewer Primal Mooncloths for a Primal Mooncloth Robe.
#NEVERWINTER TEMPLE OF THE SPIDER PATCH#
The patch also included several changes in materials for some high-level tailoring goods, e.g. We know for certain, however, that Motes of Fire were nerfed, and like Motes of Fire, the Netherweb Silks are necessary for many high-level tailoring goods. If the economics have changed, my first instinct is that the supply has as well - and this would fit with the halved drop rate I experienced. There has been an echo-effect, too, on Imbued Netherweave Bags and other items that require netherweb silks. The greater evidence for a nerf here is that the AH price has risen sharply since then (on Kirin Tor), from about 5-7g to 12-15g apiece, and some going as high as 20g in peak hours. But before, I did indeed used to get about 1 in 6, whereas now it's more like 1 in 12. I can't claim much evidence since I only did about two farming runs before the Black Temple patch. But go to Terokkar in the morning and I think you'll have the spiders to yourself most of the times.Ĭomment by ThottbotI also think these were nerfed, at least for the ones in Terrokar. This can only be done 5 times per day then you have to go to Terokkar for more anyway.Įven if the drop chance is higher in the Black Morass you still don't have an advantage other than that you can be alone for the farming. Any other class kill them alot faster than ½ the time it takes to kill a spider in BM because level difference increases your crit chance on the 64-65 spiders if you are lvl 70.Īnd when you have killed those 25-30 spiders in Black Morass (and 20 other crocolisks and panthers) you have to go out, reset and go back in. In Terokkar, as a 70 mage I could gather 6-7 spiders and AoE them easily. And the spiders both have alot of hp and do alot of damage.

The spiders in BM are not alone, you have to kill crocolisks, sneaky panthers etc just to clear the way to the spiders, waste of time. Now, first of all Black Morass is far away, in the time it takes to fly there you can kill 15-20 spiders in Terokkar and get a few silks already. Comment by ThottbotI can se alot of reasons not to travel all the way to Black Morass.
